“This book aims at implementing a principle that can be applied to our health system, of course, but that concerns ourselves first and foremost: the more we bring together our different components, the more it is possible to find balance inside ourselves and to preserve the autonomy of our own health, thus promoting less dependence on medications.”
Several therapeutic approaches are presented in this book, including psychology, acupuncture, osteopathy, naturopathy, physiotherapy, chiropractic, massage therapy, kinesiology, yoga, Qi Gong and integrative medicine. A total of 39 studies are listed to document these approaches.
Moreover, the author shows that Quebec is falling behind compared to English Canada, the United States and Europe regarding the integration of therapeutic approaches in the healthcare system. He explains some of the political, legal and cultural reasons to this lag, which is causing considerable harm to the population.
